Blade Runner 2049 Movie Premiere
Warner Bros.’ Blade Runner 2049 movie premiere transformed the parking lot behind The El Capitan Theatre into an event for 1,300 guests. Multiple set pieces were incorporated into the sleek modern design including Bibi’s Bar, the Vending Machine wall, the White Dragon Bar, neon signs, a spinner and two tuk tuks. Floating “replicants”, mannequins and props all from the film were on display in custom, futuristic cases.
Bibi’s Bar featured two large square shadow boxes silhouetting live aerialists. The lounge furniture at the event was sleek & modern, jet black and pewter in color with Art Deco black and silver framed tables to compliment. Glass-top communal tables filled with votives, black on black high-top tables and black stools added extra functionality and blended in well with the other elements of design.
Food featured sushi, ramen, poke & a full yakitori station with the guests’ favorite treat coming from the custom-made mochi cart. Johnnie Walker showcased two of the cocktails that were specially created for The Blade Runner 2049 movie premiere and also offered a tasting bar for guests to savor sips of limited edition Johnnie Walker Black Label Director’s Cut (only 30,000 bottles were produced). What else does Blade Runner have in store for Los Angeles?
